CYPRESS, CA June 22, 2004 -- Vertex Standard USA announces its new multi-component Motorcycle Control Head Package that is designed and suitable for a variety of heavy-duty external installations. This new remote package is an excellent example of value-added product design. We provided the functionality our customers wanted in a compact size, plus these new components are weatherproof, states Scott Henderson, Vertex Standards Executive Vice President.
The key component of this Motorcycle / Mobile ensemble is the new CNT-5000 Control Head with five top-mounted function keys, each of which can be programmed to any of the available 25 functions that operators of the VX-4000, VX-5500 and VX-6000 Series mobiles are familiar with. The volume knob, channel selector switch and various push buttons are all oversized, so as to be easily activated by a user with gloves on, which is typical for Motorcycle policemen. The CNT-5000 also offers a heavy detent for secure operation and a front mounted Emergency button, in the center of the Control Head, to prevent accidental activation. An embedded microphone element is located in the front panel for Emergency activation listening, which allows the Dispatcher to hear what is happening on the scene.
Along with the new special Control Head, Vertex Standard is also introducing a new external speaker, the MLS-200; another product in a class by itself. It has been uniquely designed for audio response, efficiency, acoustic volume and overall durability. It offers 4 Ohms with 12 Watts peak audio input, providing loud and clear voice reception, plus, just as with the rest of the packages components, it is compact and fortified against rain, sun, vibration and numerous other external elements. The cable that gets the audio from the radio to the speaker is oversized to improve overall communication capability.
According to Richard Galvan, Product Development Manager, these new components are designed for heavy duty, outdoor use and are built to withstand weather, continuous vibration, high levels of background noise and many other factors encountered by motorcycle users. This includes the new MH-53A8A Noise Canceling Microphone, which is for use only with the CNT-5000 Control Head and can easily withstand the elements and high noise levels.
This exciting new product offering with its rugged, weather resistant components meets MIL STD 810 C / D / E for vibration, shock, rain, humidity, salt fog as well as blowing sand and dust. The Motorcycle Control Head Package is extremely well suited for public safety as well as commercial and industrial settings. Applications ranging from fire trucks to farm equipment to heavy construction vehicles to surveillance vehicles or any other setting where compact communications equipment is needed.
